Today UI, tomorrow the world!

Hello and welcome to the streets of 1930s NYC!

The prototype is nearly finished and ready to go into testing, but while I tighten up the last bolts and screws, I'm excited to start shifting into the game art stage!

My goal of this game was to not focus at ALL about the art until my game was playable, but since the UI is a huge part of it, I let myself draw some UI elements as a little treat while finishing up 😋

As I was prototyping early on, although the text-based UI worked for testing purposes, I found that even I was not paying enough attention to such an integral piece to the gameplay because of how the dull text blended in with the background. Even when I put color to signify the urgency,  me -- the developer -- was ignoring my own key part of the game.

Long story short, I definitely have a new appreciation for game UI.
